KNOCKSHANBALLY - driver N Munro admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Munro's Amateur driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 9 July 2024 (1 month). When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer A Edge advised the gelding had benefited from gear changes and a change in training regime by working the horse on a larger track.

Became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of HELIUM racing into the first bend after a slight easing of the pace and had to be shifted wider on the track. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.

Again over-raced when there was a slight easing of the pace near the 1100m and shifted outwards hampering trailing runners and broke. Stewards questioned driver Z Butcher regarding the performance who advised the horse had raced greenly on the bends and objected to being restrained. Stewards placed a warning on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of the connections revealed swelling on a hind leg which was treated.
